Guess what kind of car this is going in?
*edit*
I’m a let y’all keep guessing. If I don’t get an answer by the time the customer gets here, I’ll take a picture of her car.
*edit* 12:50 pm 4/28
Customer is going to be here tomorrow morning at around 10. I’ll update with pictures and the correct answer if anyone hasn’t gotten it yet.
*edit* 1:13 PM 4/28
Look through the responses.
I’ve mentioned “Different Axis Power,” to a few who guessed VAG cars.
So here are some hints:
New, but kind of slow.
Built in a country that was part of the WWII Axis powers.
Compact
Reputation for durability
Only car with its specific characteristics in its market segment
So...
Keep guessing.
One more hint:
*edit*
We have a winner! onceicaughtafishalive is go.

They closed a bunch of branches in the 2009 collapse. Never reopened. Our parent company is Roadwire (for newer vehicles) and Distinctive Industries (for classics). The parent company also owns Signature Sunroofs - when they bought the manufacturing arm of ASC they changed the name from Inalfa to Signature.

Far too subdued. This is the most conservative Mansory interior I could find on GIS and it’s still a bit past the kit we have up there.

No, but apparently so many people hated the “ball glove” leather that we did a bunch of those in the early 2000s.

I’ve just seen some horribly overdone customs with the diamond leather. The funny thing is that in my 240Z the original floor/tunnel covering is a diamond pattern. I found a place that makes a Z interior the same as stock but with leather instead of vinyl, the seats aren’t that pattern though, more of a 60's horizontal line.

You’re the first one to guess a car with integrated front headrests, but not a miata

Nope. Different Axis power.
![]() 04/27/2016 at 15:22 |

That was exactly my reasoning, and the side bolstering looked about enough to fit.

Speaking of the diamond pattern in stock form the new TT seats are beautiful.

It really depends on how it’s done. Ferrari does it sometimes.

The company I work for
is the installation arm of a parent company that includes
Roadwire Leather
interiors,
Distinctive Industries
, and
Signature Sunroofs
- formerly ASC and Inalfa. Roadwire won “Manufacturer of the year” from Professional Restylers Organization at SEMA 2014. They’re also the leather provider for West Coast Customs. We’ve done some stuff through our shop that went to SEMA 2015 - like
this truck
:
and we’ve been doing Roush trucks for a local dealer too:

I mostly relate diamond-pattern with old Alpine Renaults, for obvious reasons (although in vinyl, of course). But I remember Italian high-end cars from the 70s with it.
I’d say something Italian, not very big – Alfa Romeo and probably with a soft top. 4C? (I suppose the new 124 Spider is not on sale yet).
Incidentally, very nice double-stitching. Does that have a specific name in the trade?

actually Yeah. The part number for a kit I ordered for a Sahara Beige interior for a 2003 4runner is 455639. The black Renegade kit is part# 655639. It was sent to production with the 4 and came to us with the 6.

So what would you reccomend for a m edition miata seat recovering?
Here is the stock seats. kinda tricky with the embroidery and speaker holes.
![]() 04/29/2016 at 08:41 |
|
If they’re not completely worn out, some Lexol, honestly.
If they’re worn out, we can do that. We’ve done all four generations of Miata here at the shop. On our patterns for the NA cars, it says, “you must specify if you want perforation for speakers on headrest area.”
The only issue is the embroidery, really. We don’t have the rights to it. We actually have the embroidery logo available in our digital library, but don’t want to be sued like one of our competitors.
But I could get you done and out the door for like $850, installed, with lifetime warranty.

dang thats awesome. Was someone really sued about that logo? I don’t think they will be making a M edition again and there is no where to get replacement seat covers for these m edition cars. Any way to get round the logo problem so you dont get sued?
